. . . the album consists of beautiful, playful swing-inspired covers as well as originals, sure to transport you from New York speakeasies to Parisan cabarets and New Orleans Jazz Halls, keeping your feet moving all the while . . . ["French Fries & Champagne" (song)]: a sexy, swinging rhythm and oh-so catchy lyrics that will play over and over in your head all day.

. . . foot-stomping jazz and sparkling showmanship . . . [on "French Fries & Champagne",] the jazz collective broadens its already impressive palette, combining covers and originals as they effortlessly channel New York speakeasies, Parisian cabarets and New Orleans jazz halls . . . multiple generations come to enjoy the innovation, verve and sheer joy they bring to music, both new and old.

Some of the tracks on "French Fries & Champagne" are definitely standouts, such as "When I Get Low I Get High" featuring British actor/public figure Alan Cumming. In addition, there's a great cover of Robert Palmer's "Addicted To Love" . . . The instrumental solos on this album are tremendous, especially the trumpet work by Jason Prover. Bandleader/Pianist Evan Palazzo also did an exceptional job . . . [their mixture of the stylish and the tenacious, as well as the combination of French and English lyrics] gives the album a unique flavor . . . [whatever The Hot Sardines lack in innovation,] they make up for in pure, crisp musicianship. Their creativity and effort on the album shines . . . Regardless if you're a newer jazz fan or someone who owns every single Miles Davis and John Coltrane album, this is a record that is designed for the old school music connoisseur.

. . . Evan Palazzo and his colleagues combine good-time swing with immaculate musicianship. Their studio set is as vivacious as their live shows . . .

New York City's Hot Sardines are experts at making hot jazz sizzle . . . inspired takes on modern tunes and a trio of originals that show off the band's eclectic range . . . [the Sardines execute "Running Wild"] with a snappy Django-meets- Monroe arrangement with Evan Palazzo's piano and Evan Crane's bass setting the pace for Elizabeth Bougerol's spirited vocals . . . "Here You Are Again" is an original by Bougerol with a hint of New Orleans in its step. Palazzo's bright, brittle piano supports Bougerol's delivery of the ironic lyric.

Irrepressible prewar rhythms from the snappily dressed New York combo . . .
