RECORDING INFORMATION

Berlioz Bicentenary Year - Berlioz born December 11th 1803.

A truly great celebration for the Berlioz bicentenary year.

One of the World's greatest conductors, Valery Gergiev, conducts one of the World's finest orchestras, the Vienna Philharmonic, in Berlioz' great orchestral showpiece, recorded following concerts in Vienna's famous Musikverein.

Olga Borodina, possibly the most highly respected Russian singer before the public today, joins them for a performance of the hugely dramatic scene La Mort de Cléopâtre for mezzo-soprano and orchestra.
