The Labèque sisters (Katia and Marielle) bring a vibrancy and energy to everything they do.
Rarely has a piano-duo achieved such distinction as the Labèque sisters and the range of repertory included here is not even the full story. While still teenagers they gave numerous performances of modern literature such as Messiaens Visions de lAmen and the premiere of Luciano Berios Linea as long ago as the 1970s. They quickly achieved prominence on the international concert circuit for their sensational performances of Gershwin and it was with Gershwin that they made their first recordings for Philips.
This collectors box brings together most of the Labèques Philips recordings and over six hours of sheer musical exuberance.
