RECORDING INFORMATION
For years Christian Ferras, who died at a relatively young age, has been eclipsed by other brilliant violinists of his generation. And many of his finest recordings, for the Decca Record Company, have languished in the vaults. Here for the FIRST TIME ON CD are recordings this French violinist made of several staples of the French repertoire, the Tzigane by Ravel, Debussy's Violin Sonata, as well as sonatas by Fauré and Honegger.

The jewel among these recordings, however, is the Poème by Chausson. Never before or since have the arching lines of this music been captured with such poetry and conviction. In every way, a "legendary" recording.
