RECORDING INFORMATION
This recording, one of the very first digital recordings made by Decca, brings renewed attention to the conductor who originally made the New Year's Concert famous, Willi Boskovsky. Not a "star" conductor, but one completely immersed in the traditions of these concerts in Vienna, since Boskovsky started out his career playing in the orchestra as a member of the ensemble.
