ABOUT THIS SACD
In recent years, Alfred Brendel, accompanied by Sir Charles Mackerras and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, has returned to Mozart’s piano concertos, the first two CD’s of which have received inevitable critical acclaim. This series of Mozart concerto recordings now moves to a new dimension with Brendel’s first release on Super Audio CD. This disc brings together the popular, early “Jeunehomme” concerto with the last and grandest of Mozart’s C major concertos.

This SACD demonstrates compellingly several of the advantages that SACD surround sound can bring to such a recording – greater spacial detail, greater fidelity of piano sound, and an extra ‘presence’ that brings the listener perceptibly closer to the performance.

These original DSD recordings also convincingly demonstrate the unequalled richness, depth and detail that DSD multi-channel recordings can offer. And in addition to surround sound, the disc features high-resolution SACD stereo, plus CD stereo (offering compatibility with all CD players).
