 Cecilia Bartoli deservedly won a 2002 Gramophone Award for her brilliant and enterprising exploration of unknown Gluck arias. Now this award-winning recording from one of today’s greatest singers can be enjoyed with the added drama of five-channel SACD surround sound.

This celebrated release also demonstrates the advantages that SACD surround sound can bring to such a vocal programme – greater clarity, greater spacial separation, greater fidelity of vocal timbre, plus a compelling immediacy that brings the listener ‘into the presence’ of the performers.

The original high-resolution 48kHz / 24 bit PCM recording has been transferred to DSD for this SACD release. In addition to five-channel SACD surround sound, the disc features SACD stereo, plus CD stereo (offering compatibility with all CD players).

The SACD release also comes with the collectable hardback book that accompanied the original CD release.
