RECORDING INFORMATION
A Gramophone Award-winning recording of one of the top selling titles in any catalogue with the consumate Mozart soprano Dame Margaret Price leading the soloists.

Mozart managed to finish only twelve of the Requiem's fifteen sections before he died, never learning that the request had come from a certain Count Walsegg who wanted a requiem written for his late wife.

Peter Schreier's recording is strong on the dramatic contrasts in the music and superb choral singing — and you could hardly wish for a more perfect soprano soloist than Margaret Price.

A firm recommendation even among the outstanding competition for this extraordinary final outpouring of Mozart's genius. And with the compelling "Coronation" Mass and serene beauty of the brief Ave verum Corpus on the same disc, this is a real bargain.

PRESS QUOTES
"The singing of Margaret Price in the soprano part is almost finer than any other yet heard on record, and the others make a first-rate team"
