The legendary English pianist Clifford Curzon has already featured in the first group of releases in ORIGINAL MASTERS in a group of recordings from the years 194964. That set of recordings has already generated a great deal of interest and requests for a follow-up box.
Volume 2 features recordings from the years 1941 to 1972 and once more includes recordings by a selection of those composers and works with whom Curzon was so closely identified throughout his career: Brahms, Mozart (Piano Concertos Nos.23, K488 & 24, K491 with Josef Krips and both released on international CD for the first time), Grieg (his first recording of the Piano Concerto and receiving its first international CD release) and Schubert.
Two of the great piano quintets, by Dvorák and Franck, feature Curzon in partnership with the Vienna Philharmonic Quartet.
