In this fascinating 80-minute film, American piano expert David Dubal presents a definitive survey of the great virtuosi of the early and mid-twentieth century, aptly termed The Golden Age of the Piano.
Liberally intercut with unique historic footage, the film features performances from such legendary pianists as Horowitz, Van Cliburn, Cortot, Paderewski, Rubinstein, Gould and Arrau.
As a special 2003 Claudio Arrau Centenary bonus feature, the DVD is completed by Arraus 1983 performance of Beethovens Piano Concerto No.4, with Riccardo Muti and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The DVD comes with multi-language subtitles (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Chinese).
