KEY FACTS Click here... ABOUT THIS DVD This DVD uniquely presents Maestro Seiji Ozawa
conducting two great choral masterpieces beloved by audiences and
singers the world over. Carl Orffs Carmina Burana, in
turn boisterous and lyrical, sets ribald medieval songs in a celebration
of lifes pleasures. Ludwig van Beethovens monumental Ninth
Symphony, the Choral, famously concludes with the uplifting Ode
to Joy, a timeless plea for universal brotherhood.
The performance of Carmina Burana proved a best-seller on VHS.
For this DVD presentation, it is joined, for the first-time outside
Japan, by Seiji Ozawas 2002 performance of the Choral Symphony.
In addition, the DVD features a new DTS 5.1 surround sound.
