How can I buy the CDs that I have found on the Decca Music Group site?
The Decca Music Group website represents our international artists and catalogue, and does not sell directly. However, it gives a good guide as to our available recordings worldwide. You can go to our recommended online retailers in the US (
http://www.iclassics.com) or Germany (http://www.iclassics.de or Sweden http://www.iclassics.se) or your favourite local music retailer.

I've checked with my local record shop and a CD listed on your site is not available. Why not?
This site lists all international titles; however, availability varies from country to country. Unfortunately, every product is not available in every country for an unlimited time. We recommend trying your local mail order such as Brittannia (
http://www.brittannia.co.uk) or online retailers such as iClassics (http://www.iclassics.com, http://www.iclassics.de and http://www.iclassics.se) as they may stock the recording you are looking for.

I just read about a new recording on your site. However, my local music retailer tells me it will not be available for a few months. Why?
Local Decca and Philips offices will often release recordings at different times to the "international" release date, depending on many factors, such as when an artist will be in their country. You can check whether your local music shop will allow you to place a preorder for the CD, or contact your local Decca & Philips offices. Check our
    worldwide directory for more details.

I've been unable to find the CD I'm looking for in your online catalogue. How can I find out if it is still available?
If the recording is not in our online catalogue (which is updated monthly), it means it is not a current international Decca or Philips release and has probably been deleted. You may still be able to find the recording in a specialist retail shop or secondhand record store.
http://classical.net/music/links/commercial/musicretail.html has links to a wide range of online music retailers specialising in out-of-print recordings.

How do I replace a defective CD?
Please take the CD back to the retailer from where you bought it. The retailer should be able to exchange it for a correct CD or offer you a refund.

How do I contact Decca Music Group?
    Use our
contact page to send a question not answered here or comments about our web site. Your input is important to us, and we appreciate hearing from you.

What information do you gather about me when I visit your site?
We do not gather any personal information about you when you browse our site. If you sign up for email newsletters, you must provide your email address, which is only used to deliver your newsletters. We do not sell or otherwise distribute mailing lists. If you enter a contest or sweepstakes on our site, you may be required to provide your name, address, age, or other personal information, which is used for notification and prize delivery purposes if you are a contest winner. Every contest on our site requires that you read and agree to its official rules before entering. Those rules clearly indicate what information is required and how it will be used for each contest. For more information, see our
    Terms and Conditions.

How can I find out about an artist's tour schedule in advance?
The Decca Music Group site lists our artists' concerts about three months into the future. To be sure we provide you with the most accurate tour schedule information as possible and since tour schedules frequently change, the site lists only dates that have been confirmed. (Please contact the performance venue directly for ticketing information and to confirm all dates, times, locations, and repertoire of concert appearances.)

I can't find any information on the artist I'm looking for. Why not?
This site carries information about predominantly classical music artists currently signed to Decca and Philips, or those who have been part of our classical music catalogue throughout our history. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to provide information on Decca or Philips jazz or pop artists. You can try contacting online retailer iClassics in the US (
http://www.iclassics.com) or Germany (http://www.iclassics.de or Sweden http://www.iclassics.se) or your favourite local music retailer.

Where will links on the Decca Music Group site lead?
Throughout this site you'll find hyperlinks that will lead you to related information about the artist, release, or subject you're exploring. Most of these links lead to other pages within the Decca Music Group site, including dedicated areas that may have distinct URLs such as
http://www.reneefleming.com and http://www.deccaclassics.com/soundtracks. These areas are still part of our site and include the Decca or Philips logos and navigation links back to our main site. Other links may lead to the Universal Classics site (http://www.universalclassics.com) or other sites of Universal Music.

What about links to other sites?
Occasionally we will provide links to outside sites for your convenience, such as an artist's own web site, concert venues, artist fan sites, or film sites. Other links may lead to multimedia downloads or providers of browser plugins.

When we provide a link to an outside site, we usually configure the link to open a new browser window so you can easily return to your starting point by simply closing the new window. Because we are not responsible for the content found on these other sites, we cannot guarantee its accuracy or where its links may eventually lead.

How do I install my Enhanced CD?
    PC & Macintosh
Insert the disc into the CD-ROM drive and wait. The CD is self-running and will automatically launch.

I hear Enhanced CDs won't play on all computers. Why?
If the drive is older than 1996, it is possible that it is a single session drive and will only read the audio. Single session drives can often be updated by installing the new drivers and or firmware. With few exceptions, the new drivers that ship with Windows 95 provide multisession compatibility.

Why does my computer only see the audio tracks, no data?
This usually indicates that your CD-ROM drive is a single session drive or you have old drivers installed. In many cases, the drivers can be updated to enable the drive to read multiple sessions. Contacting the drive manufacturer requesting the latest drivers can do this. If the Enhanced CD still does not work with the most recent multisession drivers, there is a good chance that your firmware will need to be updated. In this case, contact the drive manufacturer and find out if your CD-ROM drive is eligible for a firmware update.

Why does my computer say there is no disk in the CD drive when I put my disk in?
This is another symptom of a single session reading CD-ROM drive only this time it will not read the audio or the data. To remedy this, update your drivers and or firmware to multisession reading status.

    What is Firmware?
Firmware is software that is written on a chip inside of a piece of hardware In some cases, the firmware of a CD-ROM drive needs to be updated in order to read multisession disks. This firmware update will most likely require you to send the drive itself back to the manufacturer to have them write new information onto the chips within your CD-ROM drive.

    What are drivers?
A driver is a piece of system software, which controls the protocol by which your computer communicates with your CD-ROM drive.

What if I have a Macintosh with a third party CD-ROM drive?
Check out CD-ROM Toolkit made by FWB. It offers the most robust set of drivers with the widest support for almost every CD-ROM drive available. Call any mail-order company or a local retailer and see if they have it in stock. You need version 4.0 or greater.

I can see the images but can't hear anything. Why?
    PC
Do you have a Sound Blaster compatible sound card that can handle 8-bit, 22K sound?
Is it installed properly in Windows?
Try using another piece of software to play sound within Windows.
    Are your speakers plugged in?
Is the volume level turned up in your control panel?
Is your sound card compatible with Sound Blaster?

    Macintosh
Is the volume level turned up in your control panel?

Why does my CD sometimes freeze, or won't load?
Restart, and make sure you've quit all other running programs. A screen saver may be interfering with this program. Disable any screen savers, and restart.

Why doesn't the program fill the full screen?
You may have a multisync monitor with the resolution set higher than 800 x 600. Try explicitly setting the monitor resolution to 800 x 600, as the program uses that resolution.
