Best known as the greatest Aida of modern times, Miss Price sang gloriously for fifty years with a voice which sounded as fresh at retirement as it did in the late 1940's when she shot to fame in the first American tour of "Porgy and Bess". Perhaps the most beautiful Christmas disc ever made is her Decca recording with Herbert von Karajan and the Vienna Philharmonic. Miss Price was a frequent and welcome guest on Decca in opera, oratorio and song.
