Placido Domingo has graced many Decca recordings in the past twenty years, beginning with a tremendous Hoffmann in Offenbachs "Tales of Hoffman", a recording with Dame Joan Sutherland which is still regarded as the finest modern interpretation. He is part of the original "Three Tenors" with his friends Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras.
His other work on Decca has ranged from the Emperor in Strauss "Die Frau ohne Schatten" to Wagners "Lohengrin" (both conducted by Sir Georg Solti) to a duets disc with Renée Fleming. More recordings are planned including a rare Spanish opera "La Dolores" and discs of songs and arias.
